Feminist Legal
Mentorship Program, initiated in 2001, seeks to create a supportive
link between female law students and a variety of women who are practising
law or in an alternative legal career. Students can look through an
array of biographies from our mentors within the legal community and
chose an individual who has similar interests or career goals. Mentors have varied careers in areas such as tax law, human rights law, administrative law, family
law, commercial law and legal ethics. These women also came from a variety
of situations including some of Vancouver's largest firms, government
positions, sole practices, and alternative careers.
The program has
received positive feedback from our students who say they enjoy
the experience of learning more about the practice of law and engaging
with legal professionals on a personal level.
If you are interested
in signing up as a mentor or mentoree or would like more information
about the program, please contact CFLS at 604-822-6523, or e-mail cfls@law.ubc.ca. |
