Prof. Perrin hosted a forum on illegal migration, people smuggling and the refugee-determination process that was co-sponsored by UBC’s Faculty of Law and the Liu Institute for Global Issues, the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch and Metropolis BC.
Over 50 people attended along with media outlets including CTV, Omni and Fairchild TV.

Alleged Pedophile Admits Risk to Offend

Canadian Orville Mader is wanted for arrest in Thailand and has admitted in a B.C. court that there are reasonable grounds to believe he is a risk to commit sex crimes against children.
Prof. Perrin commented on the case in a Canadian Press article, expressing concern that Mader has not faced justice for the serious allegations against him.
